A Visit to Nana’s Attic

Size: 63" x 56"

A trip to Nana’s house was always a fun time. I could pick blueberries in the field or pick flowers in her many gardens. Not that I appreciated it then, but she always had the most amazing and different textiles from her travels. She was ready to show me how to embroider, knit or crochet, or play the piano. I was always free to use the sewing machine, typewriter, adding machine, or electric mixer. As I look back, my creative journey started there. In this quilt, all of the thirties’ fabrics are enhanced by free-motion embroideries and an appliquéd border.
