My Neck of the Woods

​

The old Yankee saying “From my neck of the woods” defines my quilt. Literally, these are the plants and trees from my woods and my backyard. Native blueberries, blackberries, and checker berries can be found along with oak, beech, and sassafras trees. Flowers include daisies, clover, bleeding heart, lady slipper, jack-in-the-pulpit, and mayflower. Thread sketching and appliqué document the native species which bring me joy every season.
